Who is melting butter?
Hello, we’re Jenny & Michael. We’re two Amsterdam-based, food-obsessed, amateur cooks who love to enjoy good food and wine with our friends and family.
Jenny, who cooks and writes for melting butter, is a Vietnamese-Australian who lived in London and works in an ad agency. She’s a champagne drinking pop-culture vulture, avid consumer of digital media and slightly OCD holiday planner.
Michael, who also cooks and is resident photographer on melting butter, is an Englishman who lived in Italy and works as a denim designer. He’s an international jet setting, Dee-Jay-ing, music-slash-wine geek.
What is melting butter?
For now melting butter is a collection of good recipes we try in the kitchen, amazing restaurants we eat at around the world and our thoughts on food, food culture and food trends.

Well Jenny, I wish I’d followed up your invite to have a look at your blog sooner! It’s great, lovely photos…..I’ve just arrived back in Scotland from Amsterdam today, had a wonderful time, loved the locals, the architecture, the food and the snow. Lucky you, living there!
