Splurging a little on a stay at the The Bowery Hotel is well worth the investment if you’re easily seduced by high-design hotels, velvety luxury and the glamour of the past.

The hotel already hints at a storied past as soon as the top-hatted, red-vested doormen lead the way to the soothingly lit lobby bar which is filled with handsome furnishings reminiscent of an opulent old English gents club. In the warmer months don’t forget to enjoy the outdoor garden, which is strictly reserved for hotel guests.

And then there are the rooms. Window envy is a real thing in NYC (I regularly experience it in the city) but lucky guests of The Bowery Hotel won’t need to bother with such a thing as each of the well-appointed, luxurious rooms come with big, beautiful, industrial style windows making them perfect for basking in the afternoon light.
