Once the private residence of Graanmarkt 13’s (one of Antwerp’s most esteemed lifestyle concept stores) owners Tim Van Geloven and Ilse Cornelissens, The Apartment is now open to design-minded visitors for nightly and longer-term getaways.

Inside, the stunning interior by renowned Belgian designer Vincent Van Duysen is a treat for the visual senses. His recognizable muted style is apparent throughout The Apartment but look a little further and one will see that all this spotless minimalism doesn’t come at the cost of life’s essential luxuries. Just look behind what seems like an impressively lofty storage cupboard door and you’ll find a hidden shower room or even a fully stocked vanity. As a point of interest, Van Duysen has also cleverly given Brutalist materials like concrete a softer treatment through the use of wooden molds, giving surfaces the attractive texture of cut timber.

Upstairs, a fully equipped dream kitchen and living room awaits, with its floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the city center. On sunny days, guests can enjoy the catered breakfast on the spacious balcony and on winter evenings the Dutch-designed hot tub beckons you to come outside.

The Apartment by Graanmarkt 13 can comfortably accommodate 6 people and prices are 1300 EUR per night.
