Art Museum Find: Tate Britain London
Considered to be Tate Modern’s slightly more traditional sibling, Tate Britain is London’s treasured home of British art that can be found directly on the Thames between Pimlico’s Georgian splendour and the political grandeur of Westminster.
The museum houses the national collection of British art from the sixteenth century through to the present day including permanent displays featuring masterpieces from the likes of Constable, Gainsborough and Hogarth. Be sure to visit the dedicated wing to the eminent painting and watercolour landscapes of J. M. W. Turner.
If the rolling roster of contemporary exhibitions by Britain’s most ambitious practicing artists isn’t impressive enough, then Tate Britain’s £45 million renovation ”“ a true architectural showpiece ”“ should succeed in impressing any art buff.
