Celebrating a great year of new music from around the world with some standout albums from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Jamie Woon, Jay Rock, Thundercat, Seven Davis Jr. and Erykah Badu’s infectious mixtape “But You Can’t Use My Phone”.

In this year’s Best of 2015 Playlist you’ll hear fresh new vocal talent from the sweet London-accented Connie Constance, the return of Archy Marshall (aka King Krule) plus Aussie favourites Hiatus Kaiyote, dropping their second album and new material from Chilean-American artist Nicolas Jaar.

Perhaps the biggest breakthrough this year is Anderson .Paak, the West coast soul kid whose fresh and vibe-y blend of hip hop, jazz & r’n’b has seen him drop a bunch of killer tunes from his sack of singles including “Room in Here”, “The Season / Carry Me” and “Am I wrong”. As well as strong collaborations with MED, Knxwledge & Jonwayne this pure music talent (backed by the likes of Dr. Dre & Sa-ra’s Shafiq Husayn) is no doubt bound for even greater recognition in 2016.

Respect and thanks as always for the constant source of quality worldwide musical inspirations from DJ Lefto, Gilles Peterson, J Rocc & Basement Soul.

Happy New Year from the Melting Butter Studios
