Boutique Hotel Find: Henry Howard Hotel New Orleans
Ask any New Orleans resident and they’re bound to agree that there’s much more to their fair city than the tourist-laden French Quarter. Thankfully, for those travelers looking to explore the greener, storybook side of NOLA, there’s stylish addition to the picturesque Garden District’s hotel scene ”“ The Henry Howard Hotel ”“ a boutique property situated in an 1860s mansion built by (and named after) local architect Henry Howard. Originally built in Greek revival style complete with Corinthian columns and a spacious porch fit for whiling away the day, the historic mansion-turned-boutique hotel maintains its truly elegant Southern style. Though, the designers clearly sought to inject a contemporary sophistication into it, including details like the custom Mississippi riverboat motif wallpapers, saxophone artworks perched right above the canopied beds ”“ mixing together design and art elements that create one of the most Instagrammable hotel experiences in the city.
The 18-bedroom hotel offers guests a twist on the classic New Orleans travel experience and the front desk hosts will make it their priority to help fix an authentic NOLA experience or a well-made cocktail on the porch as you watch the world go by, whatever it is you may fancy.
