Competition is rife in Melbourne’s specialty coffee scene but Brother Baba Budan, named after the world’s first coffee smuggler, has built a highly regarded reputation that has lasted ever since it opened 2007.
The pint-sized gem of a café has a reputation inverse to its size, meaning you can almost always expect to queue for their thoughtfully sourced and prepared coffees. Thankfully, the unseal canopy of wooden chairs hanging from the café’s ceiling is something interesting to look at while you wait.
