Café Find: Edition Coffee Roasters Sydney
A small batch coffee roaster and café in the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst, Edition fuses Nordic-Japanese elements, both in its menu and overall aesthetic. With its white, bright and welcoming space, Edition’s clean Scandinavian-inspired interior perfectly complements its wholesome, enticing menu.
Edition’s menu is considered and unique, with food that takes a seasonal focus and blends delicate and interesting flavours. Current breakfast offerings include Smørrebrød, Danish-style ”˜bread and butter’, with smoked salmon, crème fraiche, pickles, radish and roe; Black rice with coconut yoghurt, fruit, grains, seeds and azuki; and gröt and glögg (Danish for porridge and mulled wine). While enticing winter lunch options include Nordic fish stew, Oden (Japanese stew) and, my favourite, the mushroom pond, with udon noodles, herbs and all things mushroom.
There are also pastries for those seeking a sweet treat to accompany a beverage. Of which, there are cold pressed juices, teas and coffee (roasted off-site), with pour overs, batch brews, aero press, cold brew and Japanese drips on offer.
