Café Find: Rocket Coffeebar Bangkok
Bangkok is inundated with accessible coffee options, but despite the inexpensive street stalls serving instant brew lining the streets, it’s nice to splurge on a cup of the good stuff every once in a while. Cue Rocket Coffeebar on Sathorn Soi 12. Hand made tableware, Scandinavian minimalism, and single origin offerings are just a few of the reasons to keep returning to the café.
An oasis from the Bangkok hustle, Rocket offers guests some respite from the grit in it’s refreshingly cool, muted interior with a touch of tropical breeziness and Scandinavian minimalism. This genre-mashing is also reflected in the menu, with dishes such as Chawanmushi (a cold-served steamed scrambled egg with cooked prawns, tobiko, spring onion, and horseradish) sitting alongside Toast Skagen (prawns, horseradish-dill mayo, and tobiko on sourdough bread).
But of course, it’s the coffee that really keeps the locals coming back – Rocket Fuel, the cafe’s 100% arabica blend cold brew served over ice with an orange wedge, makes for the perfect respite from Bangkok’s hot tropical afternoons.
