The Ace Hotel Palm Springs is a hotel of many guises: a desert retreat for the bohemian nomad; an LA weekend getaway or the base camp for stylish Coachella goers are to name only a few. Under the year round beating sun, the hotel and swim club offers a creative and experimental resort with a host of amenities all at a pool’s reach.

Set against the arid Californian landscape surrounding this hedonist escape, guests will discover daily events that range from yoga, bingo and karaoke to a line-up of international DJ sets spinning poolside after dark. Visitors to Palm Springs can also enjoy the swim club’s events and facilities with day passes for purchase. Rooms range from the living and private patio suites through to standard kings, with local touches of art, design and luxuries that we have come to enjoy from the Ace ethos.  The former Western Ho and Denny’s complex retains its mid-century desert modern style with the help of ceramics artist Stan Bitters, who designed the public fireplaces around the hotel. An artist residence programme and ephemeral contemporary art mural, commissioned from international artists, also invites exploration across the resort.

While world-famous architecture and undeniable curiosity lay beyond the hotel walls in the city centre, guests need not leave the club when there’s the Amigo Room bar and Kings Highway diner, a fully kitted out gym and Feel Good Spa facility as well as a hotel shop on site. Good enough excuses as any to keep your toes firmly dipped in the pool at all times.
