Design Hotel Find: Das Stue Berlin
Das Stue Berlin is the most aesthetically pleasing amalgamation of hotel, restaurant, gym, spa and zoo ticket imaginable! It’s clear to see why it was invited to be a member of the Design Hotels group – interior design guru Patricia Urquiola has given the former Dutch embassy a super stylish update, banishing all fusty, diplomatic airs in favour of iconic furniture pieces and tasteful zoological touches throughout – a nod to the hotel’s unique position on the edge of Berlin Zoo (yep, you can spy on ostriches from the bedrooms and bar!)
Bedrooms and suites are kitted out for max. escapism – iMacs, rain showers, sky-high ceilings, electrically controlled curtains and beds with mountains of pre-fluffed pillows. The breakfast buffet is mind-bogglingly spoiling, and the hotel’s Michelin starred restaurant is available for 25 course tasting menus in the evening, if you’re feeling flush!
