Fashion Boutique Find: DEAR: Rivington+ NYC
NoHo, the neighborhood wedged between East Village and SoHo – is a quieter, unexplored area of NYC, but filled with a delight of hidden restaurants, soul food, boutiques, galleries and character all of its own. It’s little wonder that Moon Rhee, co-owner of clothing and home wares store DEAR: Rivington+, chose to relocate its new digs to the area. “We wanted to choose a location that did not have too many tourists…trying to remain outside of the mainstream,” he explains.
With a background in fashion design, as a Parsons School of Design alumnus, Moon mixes old and new, stocking vintage Japanese labels including Commes de Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto and Junya Watanabe, and its eponymous label designed in New York City and manufactured in Asia.
Downstairs you will find an assortment of pottery and ceramics. The store’s interior is far from a secondhand boutique – no cobwebs or mothball smells here. Instead, you’re welcomed with freshly white painted walls and a curated selection of flea market furnishings that house the store’s eclectic collection.
