London Restaurant Find: Blanchette
Wandering through London’s Soho on a summer evening, Blanchette’s French doors are flung open, with tables and hubbub spilling onto the street, and a glow from within that draws you across the threshold.
The bistro’s bare brick walls, industrial furniture and tiling murals are stylish and homely, and the staff are enthusiastic in their menu explanation – even if their French accents leave a little to be desired!
My companion and I sat up at the bar to dine on exceptionally French dishes that were small in size but beautiful in their presentation. A baked St Marcelin fondue and crispy frog’s legs went down a treat, washed down with an excellent house white.
