Restaurant Find: Bistrotheque London
If you find yourself on an industrial street in Hackney, you probably won’t realise your proximity to one of the most beautiful brunch spots in London. Bistrotheque is totally unmarked from the outside, so you’re going to need some gumption to stroll on in through the unmarked door and up the stairs.
When you reach the restaurant destination, you will be finely rewarded – with a light-filled, warehouse space that’s always buzzing. The décor scheme is simple but oh-so-effective, and your dining experience will be set to the soundtrack of a live pianist, tinkling the ivories to produce beautiful renditions of Rihanna and Coldplay as you’ve never heard them before.
Bistrotheque does dinner, but I’d recommend brunch: pancakes, eggs, full English – they serve top class versions of the lot, and all far more reasonably priced than the high class décor might suggest.
