Sometimes all you want to do is find a table to while away the day and night without having to figure out where to go next for a mealtime appropriate food and drink fix. At San Remo NYC in Nolita, we think we may have found that one-stop-shop you’ve been looking for.

Here you can go for a quick coffee and a sweet treat in the afternoon, followed by a bite in the evening and then drinks and dancing without ever having to step out the door. The newly reopened cafe is the reincarnation of the original San Remo Cafe in Greenwich Village from the Sixties that was frequented by writers, dreamers and doers including Jack Kerouac and Miles Davis.

First impressions count when you first step inside San Remo, where you are greeted by black and white hex tiling. In the evenings, behind an  inconspicuous door, you’ll find the art-deco inspired dining and bar area that serves American-Italian inspired plates and some of the freshest burrata we’ve ever tried. The walls serve as a rotating gallery, currently displaying original photographs by Julian Schnabel. At around 10pm the music volume dials up as the space turns into a nightlife spot where the city’s night owls come out to play and sample the innovative drinks menu created by Employees Only founder, Dushan Zaric.

Caffeine, cocktails and culinary genius aside, San Remo NYC also has plans on adding a cultural program to the mix including performances, guest lectures and events. We think the modern day bohemian would drink to that.
