Restaurant Find: The Jane Antwerp
Previously a place of worship set inside an old military hospital, The Jane Antwerp has been transformed into an international gourmet destination of palatial proportions.
Three Michelin-starred chef Sergio Herman and Nick Bril helm the kitchen ensuring The Jane consistently turns out artfully composed dishes forming part of the elaborate multi-course degustation menus.
Aside from the food, these visionary chefs and restaurateurs have left no stone unturned, collaborating with and commissioning the best of the best when it comes to each and every detail. Looking for a new kind of fine dining restaurant, one where elegance and refinement co-exist with contemporary-cool and a rock-and-roll attitude (The Jane’s staff wear custom designed G-Star uniforms for goodness sake!), of course, that perfect mix of elegance, quirk and attitude could only be struck by none other than star architect Piet Boon.
The team also collaborated with the likes of Studio Job (who created The Jane’s modern take on the stained glass window) and .PSLAB (who were responsible for the main dining room’s remarkable chandelier).
Don’t forget to visit the The Upper Room Bar for expertly mixed cocktails and an all-encompassing view of what must be amongst the most breathtakingly design restaurants in the world.
