Shopping Find: Do Design Madrid
In an already calm and laid back neighborhood, the concept store Do Design Madrid is a space to relax, dream and shop. Or as the owner Lucia Ruiz-Rivas describes ”˜a place to inspire not just to buy’. The products are so carefully selected it appears as though they are there as much for you to purchase as they are simply to appreciate.
Minimalistic yet completely homey, Do has something for all of your senses and every corner of your home.
From the wardrobe to the kitchen you’ll find clothing for men and women alongside carefully curated ceramics, linens and stationery. Then there is the gallery space, that features artworks you can peruse or purchase, so they’ve got your walls covered too.
A slightly Scandinavian feel unites the selection as well as an approachable, paired back and playful aesthetic.
Behind its tall glass storefront there is also a café tucked inside a wooden ”˜house’ structure where you can truly relax and appreciate the space. The building itself has been stripped back to the bones, revealing an airy atmosphere with high ceilings grounded by wood beams and raw wood floors.
One of our favorite features? The striped circus-tent-like fitting rooms at the back of the store, the temptation of feeling like a kid inside a cubby house is the perfect excuse to try something on, if the beautiful clothes weren’t reason enough.
Do store impresses and certainly inspires.
