The Wolvesmouth Dining Experience – Where Food Meets Art
The phrase “dining experience” is one that you see thrown around in restaurant reviews all the time and we all think we know that it means until we get to have a real dining experience – like the one I was lucky enough to have last night with Wolvesmouth X NYC.
Wolvesmouth is an underground dining experience run by LA artists Craig Thornton and Mathew Bone that can legitimately call itself an experience. The experience is one that starts right from the moment you discover them and continues across many other moments like when you jump for joy about finally getting a seat at the exclusive 18 person table, when you receive the email with the secret location and of course the 9-course awe-inspiring visual masterpiece of a meal shared with 16 other like-minded strangers. The last part of the experience is reminiscing over social media with the other lucky diners and newfound friends about the night before. I’m not even sure that this is the last part of the experience because I know I’ll be talking about this night for a long time yet.
Now that is what I would call a dining experience.
If you’re in LA or NYC, the two cities that Wolvesmouth is currently holding pop-up dinners, sign up to the mailing list on their website so you can get notified about their next event. My advice for you when the tickets become available is to obsessively refresh the page until the exact moment they are released or you will surely miss out.
Below I have some photos from last night as well as some food porn of the dishes you can expect to get at a Wolvesmouth dinner (courtesy of their Flickr account). Don’t they take the cake for the best art direction you’ve ever seen on a plate?
